Overview
  • Our client, incoming head of Global Operations for general insurance of a leading global insurance giant, was faced with significant operational challenges and a largely decentralized organization.
  • Global Operations needed to develop a strategic vision for the centralized team, to identify the team’s priorities, and to organize resources for maximum effectiveness.
 
Our Approach
  • Worked with Global Operations to clarify the team’s objectives and existing mandates.
  • Based on these objectives, developed a strategic vision and framework for the team.
  • Led the global communication, syndication, and approval process for the vision.
  • Helped the client’s team lay out their short term priorities and developed detailed work streams for each priority.
  • Analyzed the team’s resource and budgeting requirements and developed a resource and budget planning tool for tracking projects and staffing going forward.
 
Outcome
  • Clear articulation of Global Operations’ mandate and priorities, and greater acceptance of the team’s support in the regions.
  • More effective in their efforts to achieve change in operations globally.
  • The adoption of planning tools and techniques that continue to be used by the team for highly effective ongoing strategic planning beyond the end of the project.
